Summer Happens Here

We offer a well-rounded educational experience that continues the learning beyond classroom lessons. Clubs, field trips, supplemental technology courses, and wraparound programming provide the opportunity for our students to find their strengths and soar.

  1. J-ROCK Summer Camp

    Registration is now open for J-ROCK 2023. This year’s camp runs from June 26 to August 11, Monday through Friday, 8:00AM – 4:00PM.

    Each summer both Cornerstone students and community children, attend this 7-week summer camp. Campers have the opportunity to participate in Drama, Music, Art, Dance, Technology, Sports, Swimming, and a weekly field trip.   2. Summer Enrichment

    Cornerstone’s Summer Enrichment Program is focused on preparing students for the next school year. Whether your child is a new student or a current student looking to improve their academic goals, the Summer Enrichment Program seeks to impart new experiential learning opportunities to ensure success for the next school year. It is designed to show school students that learning can be fun, engaging, and goes beyond the four walls of a classroom.

  3. Young Readers

    READ! By 4th is a city-wide initiative led by The Free Library of Philadelphia aiming to increase the number of students entering the 4th grade and reading at grade level by 2020. In partnership with the READ! By 4th program, Cornerstone serves 30-50 students through the Young Readers program each summer. First grade teacher, Carol Malone, and second grade teacher, Narda Cooper, will work with rising Kindergarten through 2nd grade students for four weeks in the enrichment program.

  4. Hammers With Heart Trades Camp

    A one-week project-based trades camp that introduces middle school students to basic, hands-on carpentry skills as well as exposure to other trades professions. Hammers With Heart is held at The Williamson College of the Trades in Media, from 8:00am to 4:00pm each day. Transportation and lunch are provided.   5. Camp Tockwogh

    Each summer, ten Cornerstone students are selected by the Principal to spend a week at Camp Tockwogh, on the shoreline of the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. Campers participate in sailing, water-skiing, sports, horseback riding, hiking, outdoor explorations, and relationship-building. (Free, with scholarships provided by Cornerstone and Camp Tockwogh.)
