Lunch and/or Recess Aide

Recess and Lunch Aides are part-time hourly employees at Cornerstone Christian Academy under the supervision of the Office Manager.
Please complete the attached Application and return it to Rhonda Roberts, Human Resources Manager, at the school office or by email at rroberts@cornerstonephiladelphia.com

Recess Aides

Recess Aides work from 10:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. daily when school is in session, except when there is cancellation of recess due to inclement weather or special programs.

Specific daily responsibilities include:

  • Closely monitoring student activity and behavior, helping to provide for a safe, enjoyable, and healthy environment.
  • Getting out equipment prior to the start of recess and putting everything back at the end.
  • Closely monitoring the school yard, watching for strangers and potential dangers.
  • Relating with students in a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner.
  • Giving immediate attention to students who are injured and completing an incident report.
  • Intervening with and stopping students who are arguing or fighting, completing an incident report, and reporting incidents to the Principal and/or appropriate classroom teacher.

Lunch Aides

Lunch Aides work from 10:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. daily when school is in session, except on those days when students eat lunch in classrooms or there is a special program. (On those occasions aides will be notified in advance.)

Specific daily responsibilities include:

  • Arriving prior to the start of the first lunch period to assist with room preparation, including the cleaning and sanitizing of lunch tables.
  • Monitoring student behavior during lunch periods, helping to provide for a safe, positive, and healthy environment.
  • Relating with students and assisting them in a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner.
  • Wiping off tables after each lunch period in preparation for the next group.
  • Keeping the lunchroom clean, neat, and safe.
  • Remaining after the final lunch period to thoroughly clean and sanitize tables and chairs.
  • Assisting with other responsibilities assigned by the Office Manager.
